This is a 90% realistic wild horse && wolf roleplay, taking place in a an uknown region of the world though on the site, it's called Loch Rane. This region used to be an arctic climate with year-round freezing temperatures, constant snow and ice, with very few creatures managing to make a living. After years and years of the temperatures rising, as well as a recent flood, a transformation has occured revealing a valley surrounded by mountains. The deep valley with it's high cliff-like barriers gave it the name of the Holler, which means the Hole.
Animals are starting to return with the new arrival of horses and wolves having unknown effects on Loch Rane. No land has a specific purpose unless it has been claimed and made into a herd or pack. Otherwise, members are free to post where ever they want with their characters to talk, find a herd/pack, fight, breed, cause trouble etc. You can have roving males, rebellious females - there are very few restrictions. We ask that you please thoroughly read the rules, and of course give us ideas to improve or help the site.
some unique aspects of the site
1. Dominant mare/stallion and beta female/male are not controlled by the alphas but, as in the wild, are obtained through force and who is strongest.
2. Because of how the site is set up [being 90% realistic] and because there is NOT going to be an excessive amount of territories per species, challenging and fighting are encouraged, and will most likely occur more often than on other sites. There is always a constant struggle within each species, as well as tension between the two species.
3. Every rank can be challenged for, just like in the wild - the admins are NOT above having their ranks or territories taken from them.
4. Allies are a must on this site for herds and packs, or else without a protector, the lands can and will be stolen [to keep the claimed territories active]
5. Other than the herds and packs, no land is specified for anything - breeding, claiming, fighting and wandering can be done ANYWHERE and ANYTIME
6. A lot of decisions are made in character - admins hardly play a role in the lives of any characters other than giving birthing statistics and judging fights. This way, members can get a real taste of how wolves and horses really begave and interact.
7. Offspring will die, if not at birth then before they reach their first birthday [as determined by admins and weather conditions on the site]
so, what isn't realistic?
1. There is force breeding and force claiming to make things interesting, although characters are allowed to specify whether they do or don't want to be force claimed or force bred.
2. Breeding and birthing is done year round, so unless your character is pregnant it can be bred [after giving birth, as well, your character can be bred again]
