It’s been six decades since the Clans became great again after fighting the darkest battle ever to come before them. In the epic battle between life and death, their great leader, Firestar of ThunderClan, was lost while defeating their greatest enemy, Tigerstar, and his band of heartless, corrupt warriors. As it should have been, good triumphed over evil, and life was well for several moons. Then, from the stirrings of unease growing throughout the four clans, arose a newcomer. Koro was his name, and he feared no one. His gang, a massive Clan of “Shrieks,” as he often called them- were strong, harsh, and unrelenting. Koro used everything he had in him to gain power, and in the end, the four clans were forced together to live under the brutal reign of Koro and his Shrieks, constantly under supervision for fear of uprising. One night, a young she-cat, named Shimmerstone, awoke with a fright. A former WindClan medicine cat apprentice, she’d witnessed Koro’s iron hand with her own eyes. But this dream of hers possessed a power far greater than her imagination could go. Two cats were destined to overthrow Koro and the Shrieks. But who they were, she did not know. However, the Shrieks’ own siren, Hellbera, received this dream differently: as a nightmare. She told Koro this, and he tightened the reins on the Clans. Now, any futile attempt at escaping the wrath is hopeless. But if there is hope, it lies in misery’s rose.
