 The year was 1774 when it all began. The new Queen of France, Marie Antoinette, took her place upon the throne and changed the face of the land forever. The people so deeply in love with their new and beautiful Queen had very much forgotten some of their problems for a short time. Then the deficit of France starved the poor and drove people into the brink of madness. So to save her children Marie Antoinette began sending them away to America, the country that owed France a great debt. She faked the death of her daughter Sophie Hélène Béatrice and son Louis Joseph, the Dauphin of France, sending them away from the gold and shimmer of Versailles. Before she could send away her other two children she was captured and placed in prison.
So it was, that Sophie and Louis watched and waited for word of their siblings. As tide after tide brought nothing, but the despair of France to their shores Sophie and Louis gave up hope. When the word finally came that their family was murdered in cold blood, the two children under the hands of their guardians built a refuge for the children of France lost to the world after the murder of their families. So it was there on a island lost to the pages of history that many sent their children to be saved from all tyranny.

The year is 2013. A man has outed himself as a vampire and committed suicide atop the empire state building garnering thousands of witnesses as he blazed in the morning sun. Three months after the incident a woman claiming to be his lover sacrificed herself to the sun in the middle of times square. More incidents of these supernatural beings began to pop up all over the world causing mass hysteria amidst the human population.

The year is 2016 and the world has quieted since the rise of an organization known as the Holy Cross. Organized by a group of radical religious believers, they have vowed to eradicate all abominations of God. Their witch hunt has seen public burnings, stakings and cruel executions of the supernatural. With the humans siding with the Holy Cross, supernaturals have receded further into the shadows of our imagination.

The year is 2021. Not far from the shores of New York lies a private island shaded in mysteries and secrets. Inhabited only by those permitted on the island, it is a place of refuge and peace. In the center of it all is a private boarding school by the name of St. Gabriel, whose headmaster is rumored to be a descendant of the island's first owners and also the school's founders.
For fear that the island would be bought out by the Holy Cross, the island's owner agreed to integration of more outsiders, much to the dismay of the townspeople and students.
After all, it is said that Elysian Island and the Academy of St. Gabriel harbor a very dark secret. While it is known as a school for orphans and privileged alike, it is also known for it's history of harboring fugitives. A large population of supernaturals have sought the island as a safe haven from being hunted. For years they have existed in it's private society able to flaunt their powers without fear of persecution.
With humans, supernaturals and holy cross believers threatening the balance of peace of Elysian Island there is no safety for the bold. Nothing weighs more than a secret, but no one can be trusted. Will you thrive in the shadows or be swallowed by this madness dark as night?
